We are pleased to announce that we have a pool of six full time adjudicators and if the need arises we will call on part time adjudicators in the case of any emergency.
Each Open Championship will adjudicated by a panel of three, as will the intermediate trophy competition.
The heavy round will be danced first followed by the light round in the Open Championships over 7 years.
In all Intermediate Trophy competitions the light dance will be performed first.
In Open Championships, competitors will dance 48 bars of music in the reel and 40 bars in the heavy jig, slip jig and hornpipe in all age groups over 10.
The required number of bars for the younger age groups (under 8,9,10) will be 32 in the heavy jig, 32 in the hornpipe and 48 in the reel.
The popular Montechoro hotel boasts 300 en-suite rooms, restaurants, bars and a range of excellent leisure facilities. We have also secured allocation in the 4**** Villa Petra Apartments and Montechoro Club 99 Apartments, both of which are located just a few minutes walk from the Montechoro. The Algarve itself, is a compact, well-defined and historically ancient province, quite distant from the rest of Portugal. It is a south facing amphitheatre not quite 100 miles long, by about 30 miles at it’s widest. The coastal belt, where most Algarveans live, is fringed with sand-split islands, lagoons, drifted dunes, spectacular headlands, cosy coves and vast open beaches. From the coast, the land slopes gently up through vineyards, orchards of oranges and lemons, almonds and avocados, to ranges of rolling hills which separate it from the wide-open plains of the neighbouring province of Alentejo.
As in previous years , competitions will be held over the first 3/4 days, leaving the remainder of your holiday to relax and soak up the sun, or you may wish to join one of the many optional excursions we have planned during the week.
EVERYTHING INCLUDED AS FOLLOWS:-
7 nights dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation or self catering accommodation in 4**** star properties.
SECURITY PASS which covers: Entry into the competition halls each day
Entertainment each evening including Gala Party with the ever popular teacher / parent dance competition
Free commemorative T-shirt for each competitor.
